Project Aims
What is the “Using AI to Help Write Hospital Discharge Summaries” project?
This project will explore whether artificial intelligence (AI) can help produce clear and accurate discharge summaries. The project will compare summaries written by AI with those written by clinicians. These summaries (letters) will be anonymised to protect patient confidentiality and people comparing the summaries will not know which have been produced with or without AI support. The group will assess how accurate, clear, and useful they are. Their feedback will be used to improve the AI through several rounds of testing.
