Are you a parent who has used maternity services in the last 2 years?

Project Aims

Join us at our on-line focus group 14 July 1-2 pm

The project aims to explores whether simulation-based training, such as virtual reality, immersive learning spaces, and lifelike maternity mannequins, can help student midwives and healthcare professionals to:

  • Identify patients who are becoming unwell more quickly
  • Build confidence and clinical skills
  • Improve communication and teamwork
  • Prepare for complex, real-life situationse how midwives identify and manage unwell patients.

Why your voice matters and how you can be involved

Involvement includes taking part in a ‘focus group’ of 5-7 other people who have also recently used maternity services to share your views. You will be reimbursed £27.50 for taking part in this on-line focus group 14 July 1-2pm.  At this focus group you will be asked to share your views on what you think works well, what could be improved and anything else you think may be important.

Your lived experience brings perspectives that researchers and clinicians cannot offer alone. By getting involved, you can help ensure midwifery training reflects real experiences and what truly matters to women, families, and service users.

If you would like to be involved in this focus group or have any further questions please get in touch with Gary Blake by e-mailing gary.blake@bthft.nhs.uk
